October 2019 Update

Enabling Infrastructure works are progressing well on the Phase 2B Broadway Crossley bridge section of the Broadway Green Development project. Recent activities include the following:

  • Good progress has been made on the Lower RC Concrete transfer slab with large amounts of concrete poured.
  •  Installation of the Band drainage has commenced to install drainage points to a depth of 5metres.
  •  Earthworks operations are still temporarily postponed with a strategic view in focusing on the structural works under Crossley bridge.
  •  The BT pole on Broadway has been relocated on Broadway to make way for the new aligned footpath.

 Next stages of works.

Lower RC Concrete slab drainage will be installed.

Earthworks ground improvement works will recommence as planned with the continuation of the new embankment construction to the southern side of the new proposed spine road.

Following construction of the lower transfer slab Circa 3000m3 of concrete will be infilled under the bridge up to the existing beams.

Commencement of BT Openreach diversion works on Broadway.

A small number of trees will be removed on Broadway to enable the new road layout to be constructed. As part of a new planting scheme these trees will replaced together with the planting of many others in  2020.
